biography

Silia Ka Tung, a multidisciplinary artist born in China, has lived and worked in London since 1997, where she studied painting at Chelsea College of Arts, followed by an MFA in painting from the Slade School of Fine Art.

With numerous solo and group exhibitions in the Uk (including the Royal Academy of Arts, London) and internationally, Silia drawing inspiration from myths, folklore, the world of magic and phenomena of the natural world, through a personal interpretation, gives shape to a multilayered and structured visual language made of drawings, paintings, soft sculptures and installations that become the media to represent 'the other' where fear is fused with wonder, longing and magic and each work becomes part of an inner journey and of an invisible world where to 'escape' the banal.
