Alberto Timossi

biography

Alberto Timossi, born in Naples in 1965 and graduated in sculpture at the Carrara Academy in 1989, lives and works in Rome. After working with stone, participating in international symposiums (among others the "Wei-hai International SculptureCompetition", China, 1993), he develops a series of works in iron that he exhibits in various solo and group exhibitions.

The creation of "Largo gesto", a large sculpture for the Albornoz Palace Hotel, Spoleto, in 2003, led him to reflect on the possibilities of the industrial pipe to relate to urban spaces, giving rise to a series of exhibitions in Museum and non-museum institutions and site specific installations that see the industrial pipe as a structural element in itself immersed in nature.

In recent years he has paid great attention to issues related to the changing environment, creating large-scale environmental installations according to the trend of land art.
